Estación Científica Charles Darwin

 

La Estación Científica Charles Darwin es una estación de investigación biológica, ubicada en la isla Santa Cruz a 10 minutos del hotel. Sus instalaciones están adaptadas para llevar a cabo procesos de investigación científica con especies nativas de las islas Galápagos. Dentro de esta área, el solitario George vivió durante más de 20 años.

Su nombre se debe a la gran cantidad de tortugas marinas  que durante determinadas épocas del año llegan hasta sus costas a anidar. En este lugar se pueden realizar actividades de natación, snorkel, kayaks, entre otras. Su entrada principal está a 6 minutos de distancia de nuestro establecimiento.

Grietas y Canal del amor.

 

Las Grietas y el Canal del amor, son dos balnearios que se encuentran localizados al lado este de la isla, exactamente en Punta Estrada. En estos lugares mencionados se puede disfrutar de los paisajes naturales, capturar los momentos en fotos es de las actividades más comunes. Los Gemelos.

 

Los Gemelos son dos hundimientos en la superficie terrestre, ubicados en la parte alta de la isla Santa Cruz en la carretera a la isla Baltra. Es un atractivo turístico debido a la existencia del único bosque de Escalesia de la isla. En este lugar se pueden observar diversas especies de aves, tales como: pinzones, carpinteros, el exótico pájaro brujo, entre otras.
